According to the Daily Mail, a city lawyer left “disabled” by bullying at work is in line for a record compensation payout of more than £13million. Gill Switalski, 51, was head of legal affairs at a City finance company which controlled assets worth more than £102billion. She held down her £140,000-a-year job while running a legal training website and developing multi-million pound properties. She also cared for her two disabled sons.
She now sleeps for several hours during the day and is on prescription drugs after allegedly being subject to sexual discrimination and harassment
An employment tribunal has ruled she must be paid compensation over her claims that she was undermined, undervalued, bullied and marginalised by her former employer, F&C Asset Management.
One to watch….this could open the floodgates for other claims in the City if the payout even gets close to £13m.
