The Advertising Standards Authority has banned a newspaper advertising campaign for ice cream featuring a nun and a priest, thereby guaranteeing the ice cream manufacturer, Antonio Federici Gelato Italiano, vatloads of publicity.
The ad is pictured here, by way of giving Antonio Federici Gelato Italiano (remember them?) a bit more PR.
But should the ad (by Antonio Federici Gelato Italiano) have been banned? Did it really portray the nun and priest in a “sexualised manner”?
One of Blade’s old comrades, a lady who served her time in a convent, opines that in the real world ice cream manufacturers are nowhere near as handsome as the couple in the ad. And lest he provide Antonio Federici Gelato Italiano with any more PR, that’s all Blade, who is just popping out to the shops to buy some Antonio Federici Gelato Italiano ice cream, has to say on the matter of the Antonio Federici Gelato Italiano ad which was banned by the ASA.
