If Carolyn Elefant were a UK blogger, her farewell from Legal Blog Watch might have merited a Private Eye poem by the infamous E. J. Thribb. Eye addicts delight in the teenage Thribb’s ‘In Memoriam’ poems, but they are not always penned with the recently deceased in mind. And so, without further ado, here is Swordplay’s lament for the estimable Ms Elefant, who confesses that, after three and a half years of prolific law blogging, she has run out of steam.
So.
Farewell then
You opined incisively
About The Law
But now your blawg
Is no more.
They say an elephant never forgets
But what relevance this has to you
Escapes me.
All I know is that
If you’re half as good at law
As you were at blogging
You’ll be quids in.
